Dr. Kerstin Schwenke

Kerstin Schwenke studied history, German language and literature, and education at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich (LMU) and the Universidad de Salamanca, Spain. After working in the education department of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial and as a research assistant for education at the Munich Documentation Centre for the History of National Socialism, she has been a research assistant at the Leibniz Institute for Contemporary History Munich – Berlin since 2017. Her dissertation “Öffentlichkeit und Inszenierung – Besuche in nationalsozialistischen Konzentrationslagern zwischen 1933 und 1945 “, supervised by Professor Ferdinand Kramer (LMU) and Professor Nikolaus Wachsmann (Birkbeck College, University of London), has been published by Metropol Verlag in the series “Geschichte der Konzentrationslager 1933 – 1945” at the end of 2020.
